Homes of Hope winners

Crawford Hoying Homes of Hope will once again be providing rent-free apartment homes for a year for five families in need.
Kroger will provide each family a $200 gift card for groceries, Bins will provide moving assitance to help the families move into their new home and Time Warner will provide one year of free standard cable services.

Ronni Hunter will announce the 5 chosen winners from those who were nominated the week of 1/24. The families chosen to receive the rent-free apartment houses will be selected by The Salvation Army, which helps hundreds of central Ohio residents find much needed housing every year.

The Five winners are:

Alesia Slocum

Alesia was nominated by Gerry Slocum. Alecia has a 3 year old son, has been homeless for nearly 2 years and has to stay in a different place every couple of days. She is going to school trying to get back on her feet.

Tasha Jones

Tasha was nominated by Treva Smith. Tasha is a single Mom with 4 kids. She was recently in a bad car accident and needs to save money to buy a car.

Heather Workman

Heather was nominated by Tina Pratt. Heather has been homeless and has been sleeping in her car. She has children that she is trying to keep together. She was in an abusive relationship and needs a safe home.

Shawn Parsons

Shawn was nominated by his mother Pauline. Shawn is Divorced with 3 children, but just lost his youngest son to cancer. He is currently living with his mother. He has his kids every other weekend, and needs a place of his own so his kids can have a place to call home.

Alexus Hughes

Alexus was nominated by Sarah Boyer. Alexus has 2 young boys to support and is currently looking for work. She has recently got out of a bad, abusive relationship and is looking for a fresh start.
