Bins President Greg Tuel is proud to be a rider in the Columbus area’s Pelotonia race with one goal in mind: to end cancer. Greg is riding for his mother, an uterine cancer survivor, and on Saturday, August 20, he will ride a total of one hundred and two miles amongst nearly five thousand riders all pedaling in hopes that one day a cure will be discovered. Bins partnered up with the Pelotonia foundation to provide three sixteen foot containers to be used at the race’s Opening Ceremonies. With over eight million dollars raised for The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, the riders hope a cure is soon in sight.
The event kicks off on Friday, August 19 at 3 pm on the campus of Chemical Abstracts Service in Columbus, and riders depart at 7am Saturday morning aiming for Ohio University’s campus in Athens, Ohio, a distance of 102 miles away. Riders pedal between 23 and 180 miles throughout the course of the weekend and will enjoy festivities on Ohio University’s campus on Saturday night.
